'Social media providers to ID fake news handles'

Home minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday told the Lok Sabha that the ministry had asked social media service providers to identify handles spreading fake news, which were responsible for recent incidents of mob violence. Singh said the ministry issued an advisory to states after incidents of lynching were reported.
