The decision to send CBI director Alok Verma and special director Rakesh Asthana on leave was intended to cleanse the premier investigating agency and ensure its professional functioning, finance minister Arun Jaitley has said. “You always hope sense will prevail. I only see it as the CBI becoming more professional and a better agency,” he said.
