Sensex tanks 770 points as banks, auto stocks plummet

Equity indices on Friday finished with heavy losses with the benchmark BSE sensex nosediving over 750 points amid weak domestic and global cues. Sensex plunged 770 points or 2.06 per cent to close at 36,563 in the first trading session of this week, while the broader NSE Nifty moved 225 points or 2.04 per cent lower to settle at 10,798.
