Sensex, Nifty hit record highs on global cues

30-share BSE Sensex opened more than 220 points above previous closing at 38,472.03 and extended its gains further to hit the all-time high of 38,586.83 in morning trade. The broader 50-share NSE Nifty too touched a new milestone by breaching the 11,650-mark for first time, thereby hitting fresh highs.
