Congress, BJP now equal in Goa as 2 MLAs quit

With the resignations of Sopte and Shirodkar, the House strength is reduced to 38. While BJP has 14 MLAs, its alliance partners — Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) and Goa Forward Party (GFP) — have three each, with three independents, too, supporting the government.
