Fuel price cut: 'Tokenism' says oppn as Jaitley takes 'lip sympathy' dig

Soon after the central government announced a Rs 2.50 cut on petrol and diesel prices, a bunch of NDA-ruled states effected a cut in VAT, reducing fuel prices by a further Rs 2.50. The opposition however was quick to downplay the move, some terming the decision as tokenism and others demanding a more significant cut. ​
