After chief ministers of West Bengal, Punjab, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh rejected the implementation of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, a 'home ministry official' said state governments have no powers to reject the law as it has been enacted under the Union List of the 7th Schedule of the Constitution. As per the CMs CAB is "unconstitutional".
